The Latino Book & Family Festival was first celebrated in 1997, and 68 festivals have been held since then in eight markets around the USA including Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, San Bernardino, and San Diego.
The purpose of the event is to help and impart opportunities in the community, ideally reaching out to Latino families and youth. Highlight the importance of literacy (books, health, wealth) and promote awareness of college, career paths, and community resources. Meet our Award Winning role model authors as they share the importance of reading, activism & equal representation.
To provide a setting for the community to learn, be exposed to opportunities, and be entertained.
To facilitate access to key education, resources, health, financial, civic engagement & other information available for the community.
The First festival was celebrated in 1997, and 67 Festivals have been held since then in eight markets around the USA. Festivals have been held in: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, San Bernardino, and San Diego. Combined attendance is estimated to 900,000+ since its beginnings.
For the first time, the Latino Book & Family Festival will be hosted as a virtual event as many other events due to the current pandemic. This will be the 68th Latino Book & Family Festival. For the 2020 Virtual Event, a team of community leaders, educators, librarians, and Award Winning Authors have come together to ensure that the event is well organized, well attended, and has a great array of workshops, activities, and entertainment. The festival committee team is dedicated to making your experience a success whether you are an attendee, a virtual exhibitor, or a partner.
Over the last two decades, 4,000+ companies have participated in these Festivals from the automotive, communications, educational, energy, entertainment, financial services, food, governmental, insurance, library, media, nonprofit, publishing, retail, travel & transportation, and union sectors.
