1998 – The 2nd Latino Book & Family Festival

Los Angeles, CA

For a second time, the festival was celebrated and it was able to increase its attendance by hundreds. The Latino families for the first time had an event where they could go and communicate with others, where they could share quality time and enjoy the entertainment they love. Finally, an event of its kind was able to bring families together all in one place and at the same time, they could learn from the resources the community had to offer.

The event was a success and the excitement to bring it back grew. This event deserved to be in all regions around the US, where the Latino families needed it. It was decided that it had the potential to expand to other regions.

1997, The 1st Latino Book & Family Festival

Los Angeles, CA

The first festival was celebrated in 1997 at Los Angeles, CA.

This was the first event of it’s kind. By targeting the growing Latino community, the organizers were able to approach a situation that was hitting their hearts. For years, Latino families needed an event that would target their reading habits, the resources they need, and the bilingual aspect.

With this first event, the goals were met and the vision of even more festivals grew. The organizers once more got together to plan the event for the following year and the following. Since 1997, this festival continues to be celebrated bringing families together.
